The g-g diagram is back!
The RB can reach impressive lateral accelerations in the fast right corner in the III sector... between 5 and 6g for over a second!
The Ferrari brakes well despite the lower-df rear wing...
The Merc has similar grip to Ferrari, but less top speed...
I used ALL the laps from the second day of tests to estimate the DRS effectiveness for each team
When opening the DRS, the drag reduction was:
-17% for Ferrari(due to the small upper plane)
-17.5% for Merc (despite the draggy rear wing!)
-20.6% for RB: a big advantage!
Beautiful detail of the floor edge from the #RB19. New floor edge wings improve the suction from the airflow coming from the forward floor/Venturi inlets (that is outwashed also beneath floor, arrow). Different design from the RB18 but same goal.

Amazing picture from #AMuS showing how the mouse hole works. Inflow from the mouse hole fills the diffuser volume helping to clean up some of the edge losses in the diffuser width.
Under the skin of the Red Bull. The coolers in the sidepods look quite short. Note the stay placed quite forward (arrow). Even if packaging is tight, there is still some space, bodywork volumes are there for aero and internal ducting.

The RB, Aston and Ferrari had similar cornering grip: the Aston was inferior to the RB overall, though VER had the highest lateral accelerations up to 170km/h: better mechanical grip or just a different driving style?
Stepped floor on the #RB19. The curved sections around the boat tail (red arrows, see the carbon fiber) also bring energy to the underfloor flow.

The #SF23 sidepod S-duct is used to clean the airflow through the sidepod undercut.
Its skims off the boundary that's built up along the chassis side. Then vents over the sidepod.
This can be legal if the inlet is in the right location
"You might think it's all a waste on Honda's part. Let's remember that Red Bull took people from Mercedes F1 to improve this Honda engine."
"Red Bull may be building an engine for the first time but Honda is still involved. They put their sticker on it until 2025."
“From what I heard in New York, Red Bull was fed up with these dragging negotiations. Helmut Marko went to Japan at least three times to try to convince Honda to stay in 2026. But they were so undecided. "
"As often, Honda decides to pull the plug at the wrong time. And now they want to be back. Red Bull was fed up with that."
